Welcome to Florida, the state of flamingos, palm trees and Orlando, where 50 million people visit a year. Orlando is the home of Disney World and Universal Studios. Winter temperatures are in the low 70's and summer temperatures are in the high 80's. Not only does Orlando offer theme parks and sunny weather, it's a great place to enjoy fine dining.

From Quick Guide: Orlando Vacation Basics
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Norman's, located at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes, is home to chef Norman Van Aken, who has been recognized by the "New York Times," the James Beard Foundation, "Food Arts" and "Gourmet" magazines. Norman's offers American and Caribbean cuisine, an award-winning wine list and elegant dining. Try Costa Rican mahi mahi, citrus-rubbed Carolina flounder or Mongolian-marinated and barbecued pork chops. The menu changes, so check the website for updates.

  2. Step 2

Dux, part of the four-star, award-winning Peabody Hotel, has received the AAA Four Diamond Award for Culinary Excellence for the past 16 years. Chef Joseph Trevino's American cuisine includes lobster and potato Salad, California halibut and Berkshire pork tenderloin. The menu is seasonal, and reservations are required.

  3. Step 3

Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse's Emeril's Orlando is located at 6000 Universal Boulevard, near Universal Studios Park. Lagasse's restaurant offers New Orleans cuisine and an exciting dining experience. The warehouse decor includes linen tablecloths and colorful artwork. Try the grilled prime rib eye, hickory-smoked lemongrass-roasted duck or pan-seared North Atlantic salmon. For dessert opt for Emeril's banana cream pie and banana crust. Dress is business casual.

  4. Step 4

Talk of the Town Restaurant Group consists of Charley's Steak House, FishBones, Moonfish, Texas Cattle Company, Vito's Chop House and Johnny's Hideaway. These restaurants are known for choice steaks, fresh seafood, and award-winning wine collections. All of these restaurants offer private and semiprivate dining in rooms that can accommodate up to 150 people.
