Instructions

  1. Preparing the Motorcycle for Polish

    • 1

Wash the entire motorcycle. Spray it down with a garden hose and then prepare a bucket of warm soapy water, using whatever soap you normally use.

    • 2

Remove any extras you added to the motorcycle such as saddle bags and tool bags. Remove the seat if it’s easily detached. Removing all of these things will give you better access to the entire frame off the motorcycle.

    • 3

Wash and rinse the motorcycle as usual, paying special attention to the frame of the motorcycle. You may need to thread your washing cloth in and out of a few tight places. Just be sure to get to as many areas of the frame as possible.

    • 4

Dry the motorcycle with a shammy or a thick towel. Make sure there is no standing moisture any where. You may have to leave the motorcycle sit in the sun and finish drying for a while.

    Polishing the Motorcycle Frame

    • 5

Apply car polish to the frame just as you would any other painted surface. Fold the polish pad into small sections to reach into areas of the frame that aren’t exposed really well. Cover as much of the frame as you are able to get to.

    • 6

Reach up under the front and back fenders to get to hidden frame parts. This may require you to lay down and peer up under the fenders to see what you are polishing.

    • 7

Wipe the polish off after it dries to a white haze. Use a soft lint free cloth. It is easier to use small pieces of cloth that you can push through a section and pull it back. This helps reach all areas. Buff the frame with the cloth until it shines brightly. Then be glad that you don’t have to do this every time you wash the motorcycle.

    • 8

Replace all of the parts that you took off to access the frame. Polish the fenders and tank while you have every thing out. Your motorcycle and frame is well polished and ready for a ride to show it off. Enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Carry small micro cloths in your saddlebags to keep the motorcycle wiped off with.

  • Becareful of wires and hoses when you are threading the polish cloth into tight spaces on the motorcycle frame.
