Things You'll Need:
- Digital camera
- Digital voice recorder
- Local guide or translator
-
Step 1
Start in Barceloneta on what is locally known as the "old road." Locals there tell stories about an Indian man who stands by the side of the road and will even get into the car with you. The ghost is that of a man who lived and died just off the "old road," so ask the neighbors and you will get plenty of stories to start off your spooky adventure in Puerto Rico.
-
Step 2
Head out to San German to experience one of the seven "gates of hell." Go to the corner of B and C Street of Sabana Eneas and kneel in the exact middle of the street. If you dare, you say the devil's name 13 times and soon you’ll hear the hounds of hell approach.
-
Step 3
Take a break in San Juan at the Old Condado Beach Hotel and Casino. This abandoned development was once a thriving business and the energy of the past fuels plenty of paranormal activity. Ghost hunters here claim to see a lady in white who is reputed to be a grief-stricken bride. Be alert and you may even smell her perfume.
-
Step 4
Check out the El Morro Fort and its lighthouse. A stop for Columbus himself, this structure still resonates with otherworldly footsteps, orbs and apparitions of soldiers of the past.
-
Step 5
Take a walk by the river in Orocovis after midnight and you may hear the cries of a woman grieving her lover. Well known to the locals, try some electronic voice phenomenon here.
-
Step 6
Take some photos by the Quebrada Barros in Orocovis after dark and you may see the infamous apparition of a man wielding a bloody knife.
-
Step 7
Do a little shopping at the Plaza Del Norte Shopping Center between Arecibo and Hatillo. Rumor has it that during the malls construction a murdered woman’s body was dumped in the construction site. This unlucky lady is said to show herself in the parking lot late at night, as well as help out in the shopping center’s food areas.
-
Step 8
The final stop should be the town of Aquas Buenas. A tragedy in the late 1970s still echoes here and haunts the entire town. A school bus full of children crashed and there were no survivors. The little travelers play in the streets of the town and their giggles and movements can be heard by all the residents. Talk to the locals to get the story.
