If you have a theme to your kitchen, you can add knobs that fit into that theme. If your kitchen has a retro feel, you can buy kitschy handles with retro designs.

2. Add contemporary, sleek handles. Many more contemporary homes feature handles on cupboards and drawers that are long and sleek. These handles can bring your kitchen up to date in a flash. They will add a streamlined and sensuous flair to the space. To obtain the most contemporary look with these handles, you can mount them all horizontally rather than the traditional vertical mount.

3. Buy new handles for your appliances. Home improvement stores offer a vast collection of handles for your refrigerator, stove and some dishwasher models. You can obtain the look and feel you want for your kitchen depending on which handle you choose.
