How to Forge the Wave Halberd in "Baldur's Gate 2"

Save

The Wave Halberd is a powerful artifact weapon capable of destroying fire based monsters with ease in the PC role-playing game Baldur's Gate 2. The Halberd has been broken into two, however, so the party will need to find both of the pieces of the weapon and then take them to a master smith to put them back together.

Things You'll Need

  • Baldur's Gate 2 PC Game
  • Escape from the dungeon at the beginning of the game and make your way into the city of Athkatla. Go to the Bridge District and enter the tavern called the Five Flagons.

  • Speak with the woman named Raelis Shae in the basement of the tavern and agree to help her save her friend Haer'Dalis, who has been kidnapped. Leave the Five Flagons and go to the Temple District. Enter the sewers underneath the district through one of the manholes in the area.

  • Find the stairway in the sewers that leads up into the house of the wizard Mekrath. Kill the wizard to free Haer'Dalis, and then return to the Five Flagons, where Raelis Shae will open up a portal to another plane of existence. Unfortunately the spell will go awry and everyone will be pulled into the Planar Prison.

  • Kill the warden of the Planar Prison and take the Wave Shaft found on his body. Go through the portal at the end of the Prison to return to Athkatla.

  • Play through the game until the party is escaping from the tower called Spellhold in Chapter Four. Instead of taking the portal at the top of the tower, exit the tower and go to the city nearby and take a ship. The ship will be capsized by Sahuagin raiders and the party will be taken to their underwater city.

  • Talk with the king of the Sahuagin and accept his quest to get rid of the leader of a rebel group. Kill the Sahuagin rebel leader and take the Wave Blade found on his body.

  • Continue on through the game until the party makes it back to Athkatla in Chapter Six. Go to the home of the dwarf smith Cromwell in the Docks District and give him the Wave Blade and Wave Shaft. He will charge the party 7.500 gold and then forge the items into the Wave Halberd.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Wave Halberd will instantly destroy many fire based creatures that it hits, such as fire elementals and efreets.
