Instructions

    • 1

Clean the jar that you are going to use thoroughly and dry with a towel.

    • 2

Stick the two large wiggly craft eyes onto the front of the jar about a third of the way down.

    • 3

Start at the top of the jar and secure one end of the gauze to the jar with glue or tape.

    • 4

Wrap a layer of gauze around the whole jar, but leave a slit for the eyes to peek out. If the first layer looks thin and transparent, wrap the jar in another layer of gauze.

    • 5

Secure the other end of the gauze to the jar with glue or tape.

    • 6

Put the lid on top of the jar and paint it black, using craft paint and a paintbrush. Let the lid dry before moving on to the next step.

    • 7

Apply a layer of clear or white glow in the dark paint over the gauze with a paintbrush to make your mummy jar glow at night.

    • 8

Remove the lid of the jar and fill it with candy or cookies, when used as a gift. If you are going to use your mummy jar as a Halloween decoration fill it with red jello, white cotton balls, or other creepy fillers, and display in your home.
