How to Clean Aluminum Pots & Pans
Aluminum pots and pans are nice to cook in, but even aluminum can begin to show signs of age, wear and tear. Instead of throwing your aluminum pots and pans out or sending them to the recycling bin, consider restoring them to their original beauty in a few easy steps. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Hot water
- Scouring pads
- Mild dish detergent
- Steel wool pads

Fill the pots with 1 part white vinegar to 10 parts hot tap water.

Bring the mixture to a boil and continue to boil it for at least 20 minutes.

Remove the pots from the burners and allow them to soak for at least 20 minutes more for stubborn stains.

Pour the water from your pots and pans carefully down the sink drain.

Rinse the pots and pans with cold water. Repeat.

Use scouring pads and mild dish detergent to thoroughly but gently scrub your aluminum pots and pans to remove all remaining stains.

Polish the pots and pans to a shiny finish using soapy steel wool. Use gentle strokes to polish your cookware, being careful to move the steel wool in the same direction

Rinse your pots and pans with cold water. Repeat.

Tips & Warnings
Take your time and don’t rush or you will have to repeat certain steps.
Do not use red vinegar in place of white vinegar as it will do more harm than good.
