Take the PTA Exam at Sylvan Prometric.

When we think of Sylvan Learning Centers, we imagine a tutoring program for children in grades K to 12. Sylvan is a learning center for students, but it also offers certification and admission exams for adults. Sylvan Prometric is a division of Sylvan Learning Systems. It provides testing for technology, government and corporate programs. If you are looking to take your Physical Therapist Assistance Exam, Sylvan Prometric will provide the testing site at a Sylvan Learning Center.

Instructions

      Be approved through the American Physical Therapy Association/American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties before you take the PTA Exam. The association will send you a scheduling permit once you have sent the required information.

      Select your testing program and your region at the Prometric website. Then select a testing site nearest you.

      Click "Schedule Appointment" on the testing site. You will be asked to provide eligibility information to proceed, so make sure you have followed Step 1 first before scheduling the appointment.

      Be prepared with all documents.

      Bring your original scheduling permit and a driver's license or passport that has a recent photograph and signature to the exam. The first and last names on the license or passport must match the names on the scheduling permit. If the information is not exact, you must notify APTA/ABPTS at 1 (800) 999-278 ext. 8520. You cannot make corrections within 7 days of the exam date.

      Be on time!

      Report 30 minutes before the scheduled exam. If you are late, you may not be admitted, and you may have to pay Prometric a fee for rescheduling.
