Instructions

    • 1

Lay your paper plate down on a flat surface with the eating side up.

    • 2

Glue two rows of cotton balls along the bottom of your paper plate. Allow glue to dry.

    • 3

Pull down slightly on the cotton to make it wispy and to form a longer beard.

    • 4

Attach two large wiggly craft eyes with glue onto the front of the plate near the middle.

    • 5

Apply a large black button to the front of the paper plate with glue. This will be the nose of your Santa Claus, so place it in the correct location under the eyes and above the beard.

    • 6

Cut a large triangle out of red construction paper; the base of the triangle should not be wider than your paper plate. This is the hat for your Santa Claus.

    • 7

Pull several cotton balls apart and put them all together to form one large cotton ball. Glue the large cotton ball to the tip of the red triangle.

    • 8

Use glue to attach the red triangle hat to the top of the paper plate. Glue the hat to the front of the paper plate and not the back.

    • 9

Tear a few more cotton balls apart so that they are thin and wispy strands. Glue some of the strands around the base of the hat on the paper plate Santa's head. This gives the appearance of white hair peaking out from under the hat.

    • 10

Use a red crayon to draw some rosy circles for the cheeks onto the front of the paper plate.

    • 11

Display your paper plate Santa Claus on a shelf or taped to the wall. You can also apply adhesive magnets to the back of the paper plate and hang your craft on the fridge.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use silver glitter to give your paper plate Santa Claus a sparkly look.
