Go to Lake Mission Viejo. This lake offers fishing, paddle boats and "party boats" that allow you to bring food for a picnic on the water. On land you can find basketball courts, barbecue pits, picnic benches and even horse shoes. Summer concert series and movies are usually offered between May and September.

Go to the golf driving ranges at Saddleback Community College. This is a great place to practice your golf swing.

Visit the restaurants surrounding Lake Mission Viejo. Here you can find several inexpensive places to eat and have a romantic dinner on the water.

Hike on some of the various nature trails the city has to offer. These nature trails can be found all over the city but can be found in abundance near Trabuco Hills High School and Lake Mission Viejo. Here you can find rabbits, lizards and even bobcats (see Resources below).

Visit the Shops At Mission Viejo, a large shopping mall that has enough stores to satisfy nearly any shopping need (see Resources below).

Visit Lake Mission Viejo during the summer time as the lake offers extra activities during this season. Do not forget to bring your driver's license as you cannot check out any boat without one.

Walk with a friend if you are going to walk on the nature trail. These nature trails, as with any nature trail, exposes you to several types of animals. While most are harmless, it is best to be prepared by having another person with you as well as having a cell phone in case of an emergency.
