      Google Calendar Event, Detail Screen

Once on the detail screen, add information about the event. For example, you can write about what will be discussed at a meeting, where to meet your friends for dinner, or any other details you want included in your calendar.

Go to the right side of the detail box and click the arrow next to "Options". This will expand a "Reminder" box. Click the pulldown arrow in the Reminder box and choose "SMS". Pull down the adjacent box to set how far in advance to remind you of the calendar event. Choices range from 10 minutes to one week.

Click "Save" when you've completed the above. If you forget to Save, you'll never receive your cell phone reminder. Like clockwork, at the set time, your cell phone will ring announcing a message. The header of the message will read "Reminder", along with the name and place of the event.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you no longer wish to receive mobile phone notifications, follow the directions in your reminder SMS message to stop all notifications.
