Develop Intuition with Zener Cards

Zener cards, or ESP cards are used to test psychic ability and powers of extrasensory perception. Each Zener card is decorated with a geometric pattern. Related to paranormal powers is human intuition, a sense of knowing that is not grounded in any sensory experience. Intuition can seem to come randomly, but it is possible to refine your intuitive skills. Zener cards are one means of doing so.

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Deck of Zener cards
    • Person to practice with
      • 1

Test your intuition with a friend or lover. If you find that you and a friend often know what the other is thinking or other similar "coincidental" experiences, use Zener cards to test and hone those skills.

      • 2

Decide who will send and who will receive. The only criteria is that the receiver must not be able to see the cards. Sitting back-to-back can help or simply sit across the room from one another.

      • 3

Shuffle the deck. The sender will shuffle the cards and lay them face down on a table. Turn over the top card. Focus on the image, blocking out all other distractions. This is transmission to the receiver.

      • 4

Signal to the receiver that you are ready for her to receive transmission. At that time, the receiver will tell what image was transmitted.

      • 5

Record each result. Complete the experiment until all of the cards have been sent and received. Statistically, there is a probability that the two of you will be accurate 20 percent of the time. All accuracy above that percentage indicates increasing strength of intuitive communication between you and your friend.

    Tips & Warnings

    • As with any skill, practice improves your ability.
