Wallpaper is an inexpensive and easy way to bring life and interest into a dull space. With so many different wallpaper choices to consider, you will no doubt find the perfect one for your space at an affordable price. Before applying your wallpaper to your wall, be certain that you have selected the perfect one for you. While it is really easy to put on, wallpaper is not always the simplest thing to remove. Here are the simple steps to putting up your own wallpaper.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Start in one corner of the space you want to cover by measuring how tall your wall is from the edge of the ceiling to the floor.

  2. Step 2

Cut a piece of wallpaper to size, leaving a little extra for cut off later.

  3. Step 3

Roll your wallpaper up, design side out.

  4. Step 4

Place your wallpaper into your water bin.

  5. Step 5

Unroll your wallpaper out of the bin, making sure to get the glue as wet as possible.

  6. Step 6

Adhere the wallpaper—glue side down—to your wall. Start at the top, lining up your piece to the edge of the ceiling and leaving a little overhang at the bottom.

  7. Step 7

Use your brush to smooth out any wrinkles.

  8. Step 8

    Let dry.

  9. Step 9

Use a sharp razor to cut along the baseboard.

  10. Step 10

Repeat until your desired space is covered.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your wallpaper has a print, you will want to be careful to properly measure and align your wallpaper so the pattern continues correctly.
