How to Become a Pro Boxer

Taking on a boxing career can be very challenging. The challenge of winning a boxing match can be very exciting to some and be very intimidating to others. One of the best aspects of being a professional boxer is the money. You can earn a lot of money if you win many fights. You can earn even more money if you fight top boxers in the country. Winning is how you can earn the big bucks. There is a high risk of injury involved when being a boxer. Therefore, you should decide if this is really the career for you.

Instructions

    • 1

Figure out which division you are in. In boxing there are several divisions that are based on how much you weigh. These divisions are recognized by the "World Boxing Association" along with other boxing organizations. Whichever weight division you fall into will determine who you fight. For instance, if you weigh over 200 pounds then you will be in the heavyweight division and will fight others in that same catagory.

    • 2

Get a trainer. The trainer will have experience and knowledge of the kind of exercises you will need to do in order to develop speed and strength. The more you develop quickness and power, the more chances you will win boxing matches.

    • 3

Join a boxing club or gym. This will get you connected with fights that are going on in the gym as well as other gyms. You will be able to compete and earn your way to becoming a high paid professional boxer. Without being a member of a boxing gym, you will not be able to be a contender in any boxing matches.

    • 4

Get a manager. Your manager will also need to be a part of the gym you are a member of. The manager will sign you up for matches that he/she feels you are ready for. If you are matched up with a fighter that has had more training than you and has won many fights, then your manager will need to determine whether or not you are able to compete with the other fighter.

    • 5

Win fights. The more you win, the better known you will become and the more money you will earn. If you lose your fights you will not be paid very much. Your manager will also have a harder time finding someone that will box you.
