How to Visit Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo

A great escape from the hustle and bustle of Chicago, the Lincoln Park Zoo is located close to downtown. Free to the public, the Zoo is open daily for tourists and residents to come and watch the animals, as well as learn valuable information from the outdoor habitat. During the summer, the Zoo is open until 7 pm each evening, and the winter hours are available until 5 pm.

1. Find your way to the Lincoln Park Zoo located at 2200 N. Cannon Drive, Chicago, IL. You can either walk if you're staying nearby, or you can take CTA bus route #151 or #156. Both of these buses have service to the Zoo.

2. Check out the zoo's attractions. Some of the attractions are the "Endangered Species Carousel," the paddle boat rides for four passengers, swan boats for two passengers, and the "African Safari Ride," which is an exciting simulator that takes passengers on many journeys.

3. Grab a bite to eat at "Cafe At Wild Things," or at one of the other cafes or outdoor food court. "Cafe Brauer's Ice Cream Shoppe" is a perfect stop for a tasty dessert, or grab a delicious hot dog, funnel cake or pretzel at the "Safari Cafe."

4. Shop at the unique stores inside Lincoln Park Zoo. "Wild Things" gift shop has many gifts for family and friends, as well as educational toys for children. Purchases that are made at the gift shop are responsible for funding different educational missions around the world. "The Safari Shop" is a great place to find plushy animals, T-shirts or gifts for low cost.

5. Visit the animal exhibits. Reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals are all on exhibit at the Lincoln Park Zoo, as well as many animal houses. People of all ages will love to see their favorite animals playing and living in the Zoo.
