1
Draw the anchor petal. This is the first petal of your flower that you will base the rest of your flower off of in terms of orientation and style. Be creative here, exotic flowers have big petals in unconventional shapes, such as diamond shaped or long and thin as in the picture above. There is no right or wrong, just remember that the more unexpected the shape the more exotic your flower will look.

2
Decide what the center of your flower looks like: do the petals come together like a sunflower face or do they meet under a bulb-like seed chamber? Interesting shapes here will add to your flower's exotic factor. Connect the center of your flower to the anchor petal Draw it the way you want, and remember anything goes!

3
Add in as many petals as you like around the center of the flower, using the orientation of the anchor petal to help guide you in terms of perspective.

4
Draw in details. Does your flower have spots, polka dots or veins in the petals? How about a lady bug perched on one of the petals in the front? Or water droplets. Adding an exotic looking bug, like a dragon fly, can also increase the exotic factor of your flower.
-
5
Decide if you want to add a stem to your flower. You may just want to leave it as the flower, but if you do want to add a stem consider the following questions: is the stem thick or thin? Does it have thorns, little hairs, or some other defining feeling? What does the foliage of your exotic flower look like? Are the leaves big and shiny, small and circular? Does it have leaves at all? Use your imagination with the same gusto as when you drew your petals: no shapes are taboo!
-
6
Color everything in. Exotic flowers have unusual colors and combinations of colors for their petals and center seed areas. One example could be blue petals that fade into a hot pink near the middle with a yellow center. Another could be alternating red and peach petals around an orange center. No matter what colors you choose, make sure they are bright and bold--a huge exotic factor is unexpected, nontraditional, and unapologetic color.
