When dealing with others it is hard to remain polite and refrain from hurting their feelings. You most certainly don’t want to feel guilty; after all it is your home they are invading. Annoy your guest. Use their pet peeves against them. Do things that will make them feel unwanted.

Make them less comfortable. You are providing: entertainment, food, amenities and shelter. Take all of them away. Stop serving them food or buy things that they won’t eat. Take away things like television, toiletries, bedding, computers and other things that may belong to you.

Start being rude. If they are rude themselves, it would be a good time to start acting like them. Of course, your behavior has to seem unintentional.

Ask them politely to vacate the premises. Remember that you have every right to choose who can stay in your home.

That's a shame that people take advantage of other's kindness. Hopefully the person in question gets a job soon and lets you have your life/home/sanity back!

I hate to hear that. People can take advantage of nice people until it leads to the nice people eventually not being nice in the end when you have to force them out. It's sad.

We have the same problem at our house. He's a friend of my husband who lost everything. We offered our house to help him out until he gets back on his feet. It's been 6 month and he just started in the last 2 weeks looking for a job FINALLY. Let's see how long it will take for him at actually find one. For the first three month he did nothing but wake n bake, start drinking beer at noon, and sat all day in front of the computer. I have grown to resent him. I have been rude to him and told him he needs to move out. Nothing works.
