How to Make Squash Geese Table Decorations
Squash geese are a unique alternative to most normally seen fall table decorations. With a few materials you can make a one of a kind squash geese table decoration that everyone will rave about. Squash geese are geese shaped crafts that are made out of crookneck squash, and they are sure to make your dinner table the talk of the town.
Things You'll Need
- 4 Crookneck squash with stems on
- knife
- flat square or rectangle of cardboard
- Aluminum foil
- Blue craft paint
- Paintbrushes
- Scissors
- Black craft paint or markers
- Fall colored leaves

Crumple up a large piece of aluminum foil, and then carefully flatten it back out.

Cover a large square or rectangle of cardboard with the aluminum foil. The cardboard piece should be large enough to hold all four of the crookneck squash with a little area between them, but should still leave plenty of room on your table.

Paint the aluminum foil on the top of the cardboard piece with the blue. Make sure you cover the whole surface of the aluminum foil. The crumbled look of the aluminum foil with give the appearance of waves in the blue paint.

Use scissors or a knife to sharpen the stem of each crookneck squash into the shape of a beak.

Cut off the round bottom of each crookneck squash so that they will stand up by themselves. Make the bottoms as level as possible without taking off too much height.

Poke a hole into each side of the geese heads to form the eyes on each one.

Draw or paint feathers or other designs onto your squash geese using black markers or paint.

Arrange the fours squash geese onto the aluminum foil covered cardboard. You can use a hot glue gun to glue the geese to the cardboard if you like.

Glue or sprinkle a few fall colored leaves around the geese onto the cardboard. The geese will look like they are swimming on a pond of water surrounded by fallen leaves. If you want to keep the decoration for winter you could always take the leaves away, and sprinkle some fake snow onto the cardboard water instead.
