Instructions

1
Purchase dark and light green squares of felt, 2 feet by 2 feet. You will need 5 squares of dark and 1 square of light.
-
2
Create a frog mask. Draw a large eggshape, 2 feet wide by 1-1/2 feet high, on a piece of the dark green felt. Create 2 ear shapes at the top of the oval by drawing 2 half circles, 1 foot apart. When your mask is complete, these will not be ears, they will be eyes.

-
3
Lay all 4 pieces of dark green felt in a stack. Connect them with straight pins. Using sharp scissors, cut out your outline, including the eyes.
-
4
Take the top 2 pieces of felt and cut out an oval shape where a mouth would be, 8 inches wide by 5 inches high. Make the opening wide enough so when the mask is on your head you will be able to see through it.
-
5
Cut out 2 circles from the light green felt, slightly smaller than the eyes. With your hot glue gun, glue these circles onto the eye shapes.
-
6
Make 2 black dots with your black marker for nostrils. Place them a few inches above the mouth opening.
-
7
Glue the 2 back pieces of felt together, along the edges, using a hot glue gun. Glue the 2 front pieces together the same way. Both the front and back sections of your frog head will be a double thickness for strength. When the mask is on your head, you want it standing up, not drooping down.
-
8
Add glue to the edges of the mouth shape to hold the 2 pieces of felt together. The goal is to create one section from the two.
-
9
Glue the back section to the front with your hot glue gun, leaving a large section open at the neck, so you have a place to put your head through.
-
10
Put on green tights, a green leotard and a green bow tie. Place the green frog mask over your head.

Tips & Warnings
If you choose not to wear a leotard, any green outfit will do. Just make sure your clothing is green, in order to depict a real frog.
There are other types of fabric you can use to create your frog costume, just make sure it is a sturdy material. The frog mask must stand tall and firm. If it is droopy, your vision will be greatly hindered.
