How to Repair Plaster Walls on Racquetball Courts

Plaster walls in racquetball courts are exposed to a lot of impact on a regular basis. Balls slammed against the plaster can cause cracks and holes to form in the walls. The techniques used to repair plaster walls in a home are the same techniques used to repair plaster walls in a racquetball court. Plaster wall repair is fairly easy to do and can be done in one day.

Things You'll Need

• Drywall paper tape
• Joint compound
• Patching plaster
• Putty knife
• Paint
• Sponge paint brush roller

Instructions

1. Clean the plaster walls.

2. Apply the drywall paper tape to the cracks.

3. Using a putty knife, coat the drywall paper tape with joint compound. Smooth the joint compound so it is even with the surrounding wall.

4. Fill any large holes in the wall with patching plaster. If the hole is very large, a piece of wood may be inserted into the hole and nailed to wall studs before being covered with plaster.

5. Paint plaster walls using a sponge paint brush roller.

Tips & Warnings

• If a plaster repair does not turn out satisfactorily, the repair process can be repeated.

• Wash tools immediately after using them to prevent plaster from hardening on the tools.
