Pillows are functional and decorative pieces that most everyone loves. Fleece pillows are especially soft and warm. These are great pillows for all year long. A fleece flower pillow is easy and can add some flair to any room or make a wonderful gift.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Select fleece fabric in your desired colors. For the flower, select colors for the petals as well as a color for the center of the flower. Lay out the color for the center of the flower. Trace a round the object with a fabric pencil. Trace it twice so there are two circles of the same size.

  2. Step 2

Cut out the circles with scissors. Place the circles on top of each other, wrong side of the fabric out. Pin the edges of the fabric 1/2-inch inward. Thread your sewing machine with cotton thread in a corresponding color. Sew the edges of the circle on your sewing machine with a simple stitch leaving just a small opening.

  3. Step 3

Turn the fleece circle inside out carefully so the right side of the fabric shows on the outside. Fill the circle with pulled cotton stuffing about 3/4 of the way full. Sew the small opening closed on your sewing machine or by hand.

  4. Step 4

Draw out your petal designs for the flower with a fabric pencil. Make sure you have two identical pieces of fleece for each petal. Lay the matching petal pieces on top of each other, wrong side of the fabric outward. Pin together along the edges 1/2-inch inward. Thread your sewing machine with a corresponding thread color. Sew the edges leaving a small opening. Flip it inside out so the correct side of the fabric shows. Fill the petals with cotton stuffing and then sew the opening closed.

  5. Step 5

Repeat step four for all the petals. Lay the circular center on a flat surface. Arrange the petals around it in corresponding positions. Pin it in place. Hand sew the petals onto the center with a simple stitch sewing technique.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't overstuff the pillows as they will be difficult to sew and may rip at the seams.
