How to Get a Child into Modeling

If your child has always been a ham when the camera comes out and loves to pose, he may be just right for the modeling world. This is a tough business to get into, but as long as the child loves doing it and has fun, it could be a rewarding experience for him.

Instructions

    • 1

Discuss with your child her desires. If the child is old enough, make sure this is something that she wants to do and not something that you want her to do.

    • 2

Gather some nice photographs. These do not have to be professional. Make sure to include head shots and full length shots.

    • 3

Contact some local agencies first. Most big cities offer a model and talent agency. Arrange a visit with them. If you don't have anything near you, check with the closest big city.

    • 4

Meet with agencies. Be firm if they start asking you for money. A legitimate agency may offer training for a fee, but it shouldn't ask for a fee for joining the agency.

    • 5

Ask about success stories. Success of client's is a good indicator of a good agency. See if they have an album of success stories or photos on the walls.

    • 6

Check with your local Better Business Bureau. This is the first place to look for complaints against the agency. Gather all the information you can. One unsatisfied customer does not make a bad business.
