How to Play Blindfold Chess

Blindfold chess has been an interesting and challenging way to play for a long time. In this form of chess, one does not even have to be in the same room as their opponent, and has no board in front of them! The entire game is played using imagination and memory. How many moves can you accurately picture a chess game before you start messing up?

    Things You'll Need

    • Chess Set
    • Computer
    • Blindfold
      • 1

        Learn chess notation very well if you don’t already know it.

        Set up either a real or computer chess board to the start position. Place yourself somewhere that you cannot see the board, or actually blindfold yourself.

        Listen to the moves your opponent calls out, and picture the board.

      • 4

        Reply by calling out your own move using chess notation. Do this as long as you can remember the board throughout the game.
