The Miniature Bull Terrier has a clowny, fearless temperament, but at the same time, is loyal and obedient. The terrier loves affection, making it a great pet for a family. Since these dogs are active, they do need activities and should not be left alone more than a few hours per day. This can be anything from a long daily walk to playing with family or obedience and agility classes. The Miniature Bull Terrier is a protective breed and should be watched around children. Though the dog loves to play with children, it will not tolerate teasing and may be too active for very small children. The Miniature Bull Terrier is also known to be dog-aggressive, so it is best that this breed is in a one-dog home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look at the general appearance and size of this strongly-built terrier. This dog packs a fiery personality in a 10 to 14 inch body (measured at the shoulders). While there is no set weight for this breed, it should not be over or underweight. You should be able to barely see and feel the ribs. If you can’t feel the ribs, the dog is too heavy.

  2. Step 2

Make sure the long head is strong and deep from the ears to the muzzle. The muzzle is a bit longer than the measurement from the eyes to the top of the skull. The triangular eyes are quite dark, sunken and set quite close together. The ears are also small and close together. The nose is black and the nostrils bend down at the tip.

  3. Step 3

Check that the rest of the body is muscular, including the long neck. The neck arches into the muscular shoulders and does not sport loose skin. This brisket is closer to the ground than the belly of the dog. The legs are big-boned, but not coarse and are of a moderate length. The rear thighs are muscular and lead to low hocks. All four feet are rounded, compact and lead to arched toes.

  4. Step 4

Feel the short coat. It feels harsh and should be flat. The Miniature Bull Terrier can be any color. But if the coat is white, it should be pure white.
