How to Make Photoshop 7 Brushes

      Select an image you would like to use to create your brush from. You can alter the color of the image by manipulating the hue, brightness and saturation bars. You can also make the image black and white by reducing the levels of hue and saturation.

      Using the lasso tool, cut out a portion of the picture that you would like to use as your brush. There will be a moving dotted line surrounded the area you have designated to be your brush.

      Click "Edit" and select "Define Brush." In the following window type in the name of your new brush and click "OK" or press enter. Your new custom brush is now saved and available for use. To create a brush set, choose the brushes you want to be a part of the set, click "Save Brushes" and assign a name for the brush set.

  • Make sure to check that any created brushes are saved before exiting Photoshop 7 so as not to lose them.
