Nice Blue Do-Rag

Do-rags are quite popular. They are worn as a fashion style, statement and as a quick way to keep hair under control. Do-rags come in various shapes. Some are like skullcaps while others have very long tails to hang down in the back. There are several variations to tying a do-rag that range from leaving long tails hanging down the back to covering the ears. However you decide to wear yours, the key is to tie it correctly.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide how you want to wear your do-rag. Cup the do-rag in the palms of your hands to make a head sized shape.

    • 2

Leave the ties hanging over the index finger of both hands. The ties are on the sides of the do-rag, and are the parts that will be the headband. With one movement, place the bowl-shaped do-rag on your head.

    • 3

Gather the sides of the do-rag and tuck them behind your ears. Next, tie the ties snugly against the back of your head. If using one with a tail, be certain the ties are over the tail.

    • 4

Be certain that the ties, which created a headband, cover enough of your forehead to keep the do-rag in place. This is usually about halfway down.

    • 5

Tuck the tail under the back of the do-rag if there is no desire to leave it hanging. If tied correctly, you will be able to remove it without untying it. It will slip on and off like a baseball cap.

Tips & Warnings

  • Form a good-shaped cup to make a good fit on the head.

  • Tie the ties snugly, but not tight enough to give yourself a headache.
