Things You'll Need:

- Scissors
- Ruler
- Cotton stuffing
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Pins

Step 1
Select a fleece fabric pattern. You should pick something that will coordinate with the color scheme of the room where you'll use the pillows. If it's a present you might choose a fabric in that person's favorite color, a pattern of something they love or a seasonal pattern if it's a present for Christmas, Easter or other holidays.
-
Step 2
Measure out two pieces of fabric that are 20 by 20 inches and cut the fabric. This will make a 14-inch pillow. Lay the fabric pieces on top of each other. Make sure they are flat and even so all the edges match up perfectly. Start at one corner and measure a 3-by-3 inch chunk; cut this out. Repeat on all corners so you are left with two corner-less stacked pieces of fleece.
-
Step 3
Place your ruler along the edge of the fabric. Measure 1 1/2 inches out. Cut into the fabric about 3 inches deep. Repeat all the way around the fabric so you are left with several 1 1/2-inch wide strips of fleece cut about 3 inches deep. Take one of the strips and tie a double knot with the duplicate strip from the stacked fabric. Tie each of the strips to their "shadow" strip on three sides of the fabric only. Stuff the inside of the pillow with pulled cotton stuffing. Stuff to your desired fullness. Tie the last side of fleece strips as you did the others.

Select a fleece fabric pattern.

Step 2
Cut two pieces of fabric that are 15 by 15 inches. This will make a 14-inch square pillow. Place the fabric pieces on top of one another, with the wrong sides of the fabric outward. Line up the edges so they are exact. Pin the edges half an inch in to keep the fabric in place. Thread your sewing machine with cotton thread in a coordinating color.
-
Step 3
Sew three and a half of the sides with a simple stitch setting on your sewing machine. Carefully flip the material inside out so the right side of the fabric now shows. Stuff pulled cotton stuffing into the small hole left unsewn on one side. Stuff to your desired fullness. Sew the remaining opening closed again with a simple stitch or by hand with a needle and thread.
