Instructions

  1. Eyes

    • 1

It's all in the eyes. Bardot's eyes radiated a sense of innocence and seduction all in one glance. Practice her come-hither stare after you apply her signature cat eye look.

    • 2

Clean your eyebrows. Bardot didn't have super arched eyebrows, but they were neat and appropriately fit her face shape. Make sure to tweeze those strays in order to start with a neat eye palette. Fill in the brows with a brow shadow and brush or pencil if necessary.

    • 3

Apply shadow. Brush a neutral eyeshadow on your lids. You may want to put a lighter color on your brow bone under your eyebrow arch.

    • 4

Draw the cat eye. This is the most essential part of Bardot's beauty regimen. Apply a thin line of black liquid liner beginning from the inside of your eye all along your upper lash line. Make sure you're closest to the lash line as possible. When you reach the corner of your eye, bring the eyeliner brush upwards as you extend passed the edge of the eye. Be sure to taper the line at the end, thinning the line out as it reaches its end point. It's better to start with a thin line and repeat until you reach the preferred thickness. Bardot preferred a thick line.

    • 5

Use a pencil to line your lower lids. A pencil is easier to apply when you want to line your lower rims. Draw the liner from the inside to the edge of your lower rims.

    • 6

Glue on false lashes. You have the option to apply strip lashes or individual lashes. When applying strip eyelashes, consider trimming the edges if necessary in order to fit your own unique eye shape. Get the strip lashes that are longer at the end of your outer lash line. This will help further emphasize your cat eye. When applying individual eyelashes, place 3 or 4 at the end of your lash line.

    • 7

Apply mascara over your false lashes. This will help blend your false lashes with your real lashes. Only apply mascara on your upper lash line.

    Lips

    • 8

Line your lips. Take a nude or nude-pink lip liner that complements your natural lip color. Line close to the outside edge of your lips to provide a fuller appearance.

    • 9

Apply lipstick. Use a nude or nude-pink matte lipstick that matches the color of your lip liner. Bardot was often photographed in matte lipstick.

    • 10

Lip gloss is optional. In her movies, Bardot had the natural shine from seductively licking her lips. In order to give your lips more of a pump, you may want to consider applying a clear lip gloss over your lips. You could also apply the lip gloss at the center of your bottom lip to give the pouty look.

Tips & Warnings

  • When creating the cat eye, use a wet cotton swab if your liquid liner appears to harsh on the edges. This is also a great way to achieve that tapered look that is ideal at the edge of the cat eye
