Instructions

    • 1

Clean up your eyebrows. Getting large, attractive eyes starts with achieving a manicured brow that fits the shape of your face. Not only are clean, arched eyebrows more feminine, but shaping eyebrows can also open up the eye, providing an instant face lift. Purchase a brow shaping kit and/or some tweezers or visit a professional, especially if you've never gotten it done before. Fill in sparse eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow shadow and brush.

Use concealer for under eye circles, which shrink the eyes.

    • 3

Highlight sections of your eye area. A highlighter could be a light-colored eyeshadow or a platinum pencil. First, use a pale-neutral eyeshadow base across your lid. Use a lighter color in the inner eye and dab highlighter across the brow bone.

    • 4

Apply eyeliner. Line your upper lids with a dark liner and extend past the outer corner of your eye. Lightly line your lower lash line. Some eyes look better with the bottom lid lined one-third in from the outer edge of the eye. Others look better with the entire bottom lids lined. Play around and see which looks best on your eye shape.

    • 5

Use white eyeliner. Line the lower rims with a white eye pencil for doe eyes.

    • 6

Curl your eyelashes. Do this before applying mascara.

    • 7

Apply mascara on upper and lower lashes.

    • 8

Apply false lashes. If curling your eyelashes and applying mascara doesn't produce the effect you would like, false lashes will give you a boost. Though a full strip may be easier to apply, individual eyelashes look more natural when applied correctly. Using tweezers for precision, apply 3 to 4 individual eyelashes at the edge of your lashes. If you choose to use a full strip, trim the strips down if they are way too long to fit your lash line.

Tips & Warnings

  • Allow yourself to have some time to play with your look. Everyone is different and every eye is different. For example, using a white eyeliner may be ineffective for some. Other times, applying mascara to your bottom lid may do the opposite of opening up your eyes. Therefore, it's up to you to play around with your own look and see what makes your eyes pop.
