Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Glue
  • Small matchbox
  • Ruler
  • Wrapping paper
  • Needle or toothpick
  • Thin ribbon
  1. Step 1

Measure the matchbox. Cut a piece of wrapping paper to fit around the matchbox. Cut two little pieces to fit over the ends of the drawer. Cut a piece of paper to fit into the bottom of the matchbox drawer.

  2. Step 2

Glue the wrapping paper to the various parts of the matchbox and let them dry.

  3. Step 3

Remove the drawer from matchbox. Use the needle or toothpick to punch two holes next to each other on the long side of the box. Wiggle the needle or toothpick around to make the holes a little bigger.

  4. Step 4

Use the toothpick to poke the ribbon in through one hole and out through the other hole to make the necklace. Tie a knot against the outside of the box.

  5. Step 5

Put the matchbox back together and decorate the outside with glitter or your child's name. Encourage your child to put a keepsake into the locket.
