Things You'll Need:
- Hot glue gun
- Pencil
- Thick white pillar candle
- Green rhinestones
- Red rhinestones
- Silver rhinestones
- Yellow star sequins
- Brown glitter glue
-
Step 1
Draw a simple Christmas tree outline on the side of the candle with the pencil. The lead will not leave a dark mark, but it will leave a light impression in the wax of the candle that will serve as a pattern for you to follow. Do not draw any more details than the bare outline of the tree.
-
Step 2
You do not have to use red and silver rhinestones, but you should limit the colors of the ornaments or the tree can get too clutteredGlue on the red and silver rhinestones. Use a very small dot of glue to hold the rhinestones on the candle. You might wish to place a few of the colored rhinestones along the edge of the tree outline or you can create a "garland" by using them to draw diagonal lines through the tree outline. Do not outline the tree with them, though, or you will have a red and silver Christmas tree instead of a green one.
-
Step 3
Fill in the rest of the tree with the green rhinestones. Some people like to just cover the outline, while others fill in the entire triangle shape with green, shiny jewels.
-
Step 4
Color in the trunk of the tree with brown glitter glue. Use a fair amount and make the layering fairly thick so that when the glue dries it will clearly be seen as the trunk of the tree.
-
Step 5
Glue the gold star to the top of the tree.
-
Step 6
Let the candle dry. While the rhinestones will feel dry in about 30 minutes, give the candle 24 hours before lighting it.

on 10/31/2009 Hi, once again:
As some of my comment above was cut short; I want to reiterate my closing and email address. As was originally stated in above comment, I need some suggestions for my holiday baskets. Please keep your suggestions inexpensive...and clean. Please do NOT inundate me with SPAM or unwanted email addresses unless they are links to some helpful ideas for my baskets.
Thank you and may God bless...
Mary

on 10/31/2009 Holiday Greetings:
This year, for Christmas gift giving; I am creating 'Christmas Gift Baskets' filled with baked goodies and some home made candy. I've done this in years past and they were always a big hit. However, it's been a few years since last doing so and I need some help from the good people on this board.
What I'm needing are some suggestions for fillers...such as written messages, (often copied from the internet) wrapped in ribbon; some goodies from the "99 Cent Store" or the "Dollar Store".
I'm taking a chance here and am including my name and email address as I would very much appreciate some ideas for my baskets. Please keep these ideas inexpensive and please keep your comments and suggestions CLEAN. After all, it is Jesus's birthday that we are celebrating.
Thank you to any and all suggestions that would be of use for my baskets.
Wishing all a ...
