One of the most beautiful times of year to get married is in the winter, but if you are getting married in the winter, there are special considerations when you are choosing the decorations. If you are planning a wedding for the upcoming winter, the following are a few great ideas that will help you choose the best decorations for your wedding.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go with rich colors for decorating. Winter is a great time to have a romantic wedding, and the colors you choose are important. Rich jewel tones are great choices for the decorations for your winter wedding. Consider deep greens, deep reds, purples, navy blue and ice blue. Of course white is a great color of choice for decorations as well. All of these colors will end up looking wonderful with candlelight as well.

  2. Step 2

Use seasonal flowers. Seasonal flowers during the winter are amazingly beautiful and look great at winter weddings. You don't have to spend a lot of money trying to get flowers that are out of season, since there are so many great choices that are in season. Great seasonal flowers that you can use for decorating include lilies, roses, poinsettias, and amaryllis. Of course you are not limited to flowers, but decorating with evergreens and holly is a great choice that will look great.

  3. Step 3

Add touches of white. Although you may not want all of your decorations to be white, touches of white here and there can really add to a winter wedding decor. Consider white ribbons on centerpieces, a few white flowers here and there, and other small white touches that will compliment the rest of your decor.

  4. Step 4

Use holiday items. Since you are having a winter wedding, this is the perfect time to use holiday items in a wedding. If you love weddings and Christmas, why not combine some of the decorations for the two. Consider decorating with white Christmas lights, having a Christmas tree at the reception, or having holiday themed centerpieces. This is a great way to make use of the season while enhancing your wedding decor as well.
