Make Acne Be Gone Soap

Quick and easy instructions to make a natural alternative to regular soap that is wonderful for oily acne prone skin. This soap is gentle enough to use for any skin type!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb Glycerin Goats Milk Melt and Pour Soap
  • 1 ounce Bees Wax Pastiles or Block
  • 1 ounce Shea Butter
  • 1 ounce dried Calendula petals
  • 15 drops tea tree oil
  • 2 vitamin E capsules
  • Fragrance Oil (optional)
  • Soap Mold (Clean Pringles Can Works)
  • Soap Safe Coloring
  1. Step 1

Break up melt and pour soap into smaller pieces or cut with sharp knife. Place into microwave with bees wax and shea butter. Cook on high for 45 seconds. Remove and stir with wooden spoon. Repeat for 45 seconds. Stir again. Repeat until all ingredients are melted.

  2. Step 2

Remove from microwave and allow to cool for 5 to 10 minutes. You may color the soap with a soap dye at this time but it is not necessary and for facial bars I do not use coloring.

  3. Step 3

After the mixture is allowed to cool, stir again and then add calendula petals, tea tree oil, and fragrance if desired. Poke a hole in a vitamin E capsule and squeeze the contents in the mixture and stir. Allow to cool another 5 minutes or so and then place mixture into the molds and allow to cool completely.

Tips & Warnings
  • If using Pringles can as a mold, allow to cool at least 12 hours or overnight. When cool either cut at intervals with a very sharp knife or peel away the can and cut the soap into individual bars.
  • Wrap in plastic to avoid sweating. Keep soap dry between uses to make the glycerin soap last longer.
  • Ingredients can be purchased at soap supply companies such as Wholesale Supplies Plus
  • Use caution to avoid burns when stirring hot soap mixture. Use oven mitts or pot holders to move containers from the microwave to the table or counter.
  • Do not use plastic containers to do this in the microwave. They can melt
