How to make a wedding ribbon wand
Wedding ribbon wands are a creative alternative to a rice send-off and double as inexpensive keepsake wedding favors. The wands are made from simple wooden dowels that can be painted or left natural. The newlywed's names and the special date are written on lengths of ribbon and attached to one end of the dowel. Adorn the wands with a tiny little bell and have the wedding guests wave the wands as the newlywed couple exit the ceremony.

1
Place the strong tack over top of one end of the wooden dowel and hammer it in. Pull the tack out to remove it. The hole left by the tack will make adding the eye screw easier.
-
2
Place the end of the eye screw over the hole left by the tack and screw it in. You may need to turn the screw with pliers to get it all the way in.

3
Cut four pieces of the 3/8-inch-wide ribbon. Use a metallic fabric pen to write the name of the couple and the wedding date at both ends of each ribbon. Let the ink dry for a few minutes.
-
4
Align the short ends of the ribbon and slide the ribbons through the eye of the screw until half of the ribbon is on each side of the screw. Tie the ribbon in a double knot to keep it attached to the wand.

5
Open a jump ring and hook it onto the eye screw. Hook a tiny bell onto the jump ring and squeeze the ring closed.
