break a caffeine addiction

A caffeine addiction Is a serous addiction. Most people who are not addicted to caffeine think it is not a big deal, but if you have ever tried to get away from it it can be almost imposable, with withdraw symptoms such as migraine headaches, nausea ,lack of concentration and cravings. But with work you can beat this addiction.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Caffeine free soda
  • decaf coffee
  • no doze
  1. Step 1

The first thing you need to do is stop drinking sodas and coffee with caffeine in it. This may seem hard at first but caffeine free sodas are available in all your favorite brands and they only taste slightly different, it is not enough to notice most of the time. For a different taste try ginger ale the stuff tastes great with no caffeine at all. The best brand in my opinion is Schweppes.

  2. Step 2

You also need to get enough sleep so that you are not tired. Most people use caffeine to replace sleep, this practice is not healthy and needs to end. Get to bed on time and you wont crave caffeine in the morning.

  3. Step 3

After a day or 2 if you were really addicted you will probably get withdrawal symptoms. The most common is headache, but they can get so bad it will feel like you have a full blown cold. If you cannot tough it out try taking some aspirin or other pain reliever. If this does not help try taking a smaller amount of caffeine than normal. No Doze pills are pure caffeine at 200 mg per pill. Cut one up into 4 parts and take one of those parts, that's about 50 mg. If you don't get any relief then go for half a pill 100 mg. The goal is to take just enough caffeine to prevent any the headaches but not enough to get any energy off it.

  4. Step 4

You need to try to ramp down your use of caffeine over a week to get off the stuff. As bad as the affects may be they will only last for a week and then they are over. Stick with it and you will soon be caffeine free.

Tips & Warnings
  • Get a friend to quit with you, you can both help each other.
  • after Quitting caffeine you have more energy naturally.
  • Caffeine is a drug, and it is not healthy to take in large doses.
