Things You'll Need:
- Nutritional Information
- Internet or math skills
-
Step 1
TWO WAYS: There are two ways to figure the points for a food product. You can do it yourself or you can do it online.
-
Step 2
DO THE MATH: To do the math yourself, here are the steps. First divide the calories by 50, keep that number. Then, divide the fat grams by 12, keep that number. Then, divide the dietary fiber grams by 5, keep that number. Lastly, add the calories number to the fat grams number, then subtract the fiber number. This will give you a decimal number. Round the decimal up if it is higher than 5. That will be your points for the food product.
-
Step 3
ONLINE: You can also figure the calories online, which is much easier. To do this, simply go to the page I have provided in the resources box below. Plug in your calories, fat grams, and dietary fiber in the boxes provided and the calculator will figure it for you. Easy as pie, low points pie, that is.

on 8/13/2009 Good to know. I haven't followed the plan before, but always lose weight when my wife does. Probably end up controlling my portions better. Always nice when restaurants publish the points for you!
