Multiple Sclerosis can make you feel alone and scared.

There are good days and there are horrible days when you live with Multiple Sclerosis. On those horrible days you can look at a very scary long range scenario of how things will be in the future. I have Multiple Sclerosis and have learned not to put myself through that. Scenarios are just that, something you formulate in your mind. You need to live one day at a time.

Multiple Sclerosis - You can only control what is happening today.

When you have Multiple Sclerosis (MS), here's how to take one day at a time.

    1. When you have Multiple Sclerosis - You can only deal with what is happening with your presently. Find options on how to get through any obstacles you are encountering NOW and don't forecast them to be worse later.

  2. Step 2

    2. When you have Multiple Sclerosis - Don't be alone. If you are unable to leave your house make sure you call someone so you do not feel lonely. That feeling is one of the worst you can have when you are going through one of your 'horrible' days.

  3. Step 3

    3. When you have Multiple Sclerosis- Think positive. Your mind is a very powerful tool. What you think is what you do. Keep positive thoughts and write them down so you can look at them throughout the day.

  4. Step 4

    4. When you have Multiple Sclerosis - Be resourceful. What can you do to make the obstacle easier to deal with or, in the best case, go away?

  5. Step 5

    5. When you have Multiple Sclerosis- Find a hobby. When the world, and your symptoms, are overwhelming immerse yourself into a hobby. You can focus on that and not think about anything else for a while.

  6. Step 6

    6. When you have Multiple Sclerosis - Get your mind off yourself. There are others in your life that you can think about. Narrow your thoughts to fun, adventurous, and/or funny times you've had with those individuals.

  7. Step 7

    7. When you have Multiple Sclerosis - Call your Doctor to see if there is some symptom management tactics they can suggest to assist you in overcoming your symptoms.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remind yourself, even while dealing with the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis, that your are a valuable person who deserves the best and are willing to do whatever is needed to get it. Hang in there, better days ahead.
