Things You'll Need:

  • Awareness
  • Common Sense
  • Diligence
  • Patience
  1. Step 1
    Slow Lane is Safer!
    Slow Lane is Safer!

Drive in the Slow Lane - Forget about trying to keep up with, or avoid, all of the psycho speed demons that populate the fast lanes of the Los Angeles freeways. Tone it down a notch, relax a little, and take it nice and easy in the slow lanes!

  2. Step 2
    Be Wary of Speeders!
    Be Wary of Speeders!

Ignore the Freeway Ignoramuses - No matter what freeway you are, no matter what time of day, you are bound to run across a few vehicular Neanderthals populating the Los Angeles freeways. Whether they are weaving in and out of traffic at high speed, tailgating, or zig-zagging across the carpool lanes, these morons are best left to their own devices. Ignore them, and stay as far away from them as possible!

  3. Step 3
    Jerk Just Cut Me Off!
    Jerk Just Cut Me Off!

Be Judicious with Your Horn and Lights - As gratifying as it is to blow your horn or flick your lights at the jerk that just cut you off, a certain amount of prudence is advisable while driving on the freeways of Los Angeles. With potentially deadly road rage incidents and pistol-packing motorists becoming all too common in Los Angeles, it's best to use your horn and lights very judiciously, if at all!

  4. Step 4
Honey, I'll be a Little Late!
Honey, I'll be a Little Late!

Avoid Rush Hour Traffic Like the Plague - If at all possible, try to schedule your freeway excursions for times when traffic is moving a little faster and is less congested. The early morning hours between 6:00-9:00 A.M, as well as the late afternoon/early evening hours between 3:00-6:30 P.M are the most congested times. Avoiding these hours will greatly reduce your stress level and greatly reduce your chances of being involved in an auto accident or of encountering a stressed out, angry, uptight motorist!
