Many men start losing hair in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties. Take steps to prevent and reduce hair loss before it's to late.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be realistic about your current hair loss. Look in the mirror and accurately gauge the amount of loss. Being true to yourself is the most important step. Accept yourself as a person with your current level of hair loss.

  2. Step 2

There are currently two medicines marketed at men for the reduction of male pattern baldness.

  3. Step 3

Rogaine foam or rogaine liquid and its generic equivelants regrows hair. But rogaine is only labeled as effective at reducing hairloss that occurs in a circular pattern on the top of the head, not loss at the front of the scalp.

**** is a prescription medicine marketed to prevent male pattern baldness. It reduces the levels of a type of testosterone responsible for hair loss called DHT.

  4. Step 4

Both medicines lose their benefits (hair regrowth) if you stop taking them.

  5. Step 5

Supplements are often taken by men experiencing hair loss, but with varying results.

  6. Step 6

Don't become fixated or obsessed with your hair loss. If you are truly worried about it, go to a doctor and receive a prescription for ****. If you aren't willing to risk the side effects of medication - which are real - keep a realistic perspective about your hair loss. Adapt your hair style to your current level and type of hair loss and it will be much less apparent.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you experience sudden hair loss associated with a certain shampoo, change shampoos immediately!
  • Don't project insecurity about your hair loss, and fewer people will notice it.
