Give Yourself A French Manicure
Give Yourself A French Manicure

No fake nails. No messy sticky strip. No special equipment needed. Beautiful, manicured, professional looking nails. Easy to do. Do it yourself. Check it out!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • white nail polish
  • clear nail polish
  • nail clippers
  • nail file
  • bowl of warm, soapy water
  • dry towel
  • nail polish removal
  • q-tips
  1. Step 1

Clip, clean and file your nails. Wet your fingertips in the bowl of water to help clean under the nail and push back your cuticles. If your nails are exceptionally dirty then you may want to soak them for a few minutes first.

  2. Step 2

Dry completely with a clean towel.

  3. Step 3

Paint the top half of your nail with the white polish. Allow to dry.

  4. Step 4

Pour some nail polish removal into a small cup or into the cap of the bottle.

  5. Step 5

Dip the end of a q-tip into the remover and rub off the white paint in small circular motions. Go from bottom to top, inside to out to define a finely arched tip. Use a fresh q-tip for every nail.

  6. Step 6

Brush on a clear top coat and allow to dry. Go show them off and see how many people will think it's professionally done.

Tips & Warnings
  • To dry your nails faster use the low setting on your hair dryer. Did you know that heat can make your nails grow faster?
  • Tip your nails with color for a super savvy look.
  • If you accidentally painted part of your finger along with your nail just wait to dry and chip it off with the sharp tip of your nail file and a little water. This works better than a q-tip because you don't risk taking off the wanted paint.
  • Rubbing vinegar onto your nails before painting can make nail polish last longer!
  • Perform in a well ventilated area. Nail polish and nail polish removal give off fumes that could be harmful.
