Remove Wax from Clothing or Fabric
Remove Wax from Clothing or Fabric

Candles are beautiful, until you've got wax stained on your favorite sweater! Follow these easy steps to get your sweater looking like new.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Iron
  • Brown bag or brown paper towels
  • Your stained clothes!
  1. Step 1

Heat up your iron to just below its hottest setting. Turn OFF any steam settings that are available - you want your iron dry.

  2. Step 2

Place a section of the brown bag or paper towel on top of the affected area of fabric. If you are using thin towels, layer a few to keep the wax from getting on your iron.

  3. Step 3

Gently glide the hot iron over the brown bag. This will heat the wax underneath, and cause the bag to soak it up - removing it from your fabric or clothing.

  4. Step 4

Repeat if necessary - and voila! Your clothes look like new.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may need to repeat a few times, depending on how deep the wax has soaked and the texture of the fabric.
  • Check your clothing label before ironing! While the brown bag should protect any synthetic fibers that could be damaged, use caution to make sure you don't further ruin your favorite article of clothing.
