Waking up each morning can be a very difficult task for some and nearly impossible for others. Tired of going to work with constant yawns? Barely able to motivate yourself to lift a finger during the day due to your tiredness? Here are some steps to help defeat the grogginess that comes with waking up.
Get a full night's rest. You may have to go to bed a little earlier, but if you get a full 8 hours, you may feel a little less groggy in the morning.
Open your curtains or turn on the light as soon as your alarm goes off. Light will help your body become adjusted to the new day and you will wake up a bit easier rather than being left in the dark where your body will shut down again.
Eat a healthy breakfast. Fruits or grains are good. Eating a light, quick meal will give you the energy you need throughout the day.
Take a morning shower. Showers are your best bet at waking you up. That one morning shower will splash some energy into you to keep you going throughout the day.
Don't warm up. If your body becomes too warm, you become too comfortable. This leads to sleep or grogginess, which you want the opposite of.
Keep motivated. Have some type of goal and something to look forward to or reward yourself with through the day. This will encourage you to stay on your feet and away from your bed.
