Things You'll Need:
- Euros or a credit card, it costs 12 Euros to take the elevator to the top.
- Time and patience.
- A camera.
-
Step 1
Check out a website like: www.sunrisesunset.com and look up Paris. The website has the sunset times listed on a monthly calendar. This will help you decide what time you should get in the Eiffel Tower ticket line.
-
Step 2
Get in line extra early. In the high season, it can easily take 2 hours to get through the ticket line. I went in February (Valentines Day) and the ticket line took us 30 minutes (the slow season).
-
Step 3
Once you get to the ticket window, you'll have to decide if you want to pay to take the stairs or pay extra to go to the top of the tower. I highly recommend the elevator vs. the 1,665 stairs. Take the elevator to the top, don't cheap out and only pay for the first level.
From the ticket window, I would estimate 1 to 1.5 hours before you'll land on the top floor. -
Step 4
Everybody out! You have to get out on the 1st level no matter what. Remember that you are on a deadline and get right back in line for the top floor. You can come back to the 1st floor after the sunset.
-
Step 5
Hopefully you've made it. You're probably early. That's good! Relax and have a look around. Take tons of pictures while the sun is still out.
-
Step 6
The sunset! Get your photo, but more importantly get your romantic kiss.
Voila!
