Pumpkins Are Just a Part of Today's Halloween Decorating Options.

Even if you don't have time to pull out all the stops and create a creepy Halloween setting in your front yard this year, you can still add a touch of spooky fun to your door by hanging a Halloween wreath.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wreath form
  • Ribbon in Halloween colors
  • Small decorations
  • Glue gun
  • Wreath hanger
  1. Step 1

Wrap the ribbon neatly around the wreath form. Secure the loose ends securely in back of the wreath. If you'd like a bow, use a piece of left over ribbon to make a bow. I use a bow maker to help mine turn out really nice and even, but two knobs on a cupboard that are about six to eight inches apart can work, too. Simply loop the ribbon around the knobs three or four times and then use a piece of florist's wire to secure the middle of the bow.

  2. Step 2

Lay out the decorations on the wreath, being careful to provide balance for the bow. Once you like the way the wreath looks, hot glue all the decorations in place.

  3. Step 3

Use a wreath hanger to hang the wreath on your front door and step back to admire the finished wreath. Be sure it hangs evenly and that you don't notice any bare spots that need a few more decorations.

Tips & Warnings
  • Not all Halloween door decorations need to be wreaths. A straw broom or felt hat can make a fun base for a great decoration, too.
  • For a kids' Halloween wreath, look for foam stickers. With these stickers, kids can make a cute wreath in minutes without using a glue gun.
  • Be cautious when using a glue gun. The glue can really cause painful burns.
