Starting a web radio show is actually quite easy. People produce their own radio shows to share their expertise or that of others, to have a platform for their ideas or simply to have fun. You can have a talk show, music show, call-in show or a mixture of the three. The only things you need to get started are a phone and a computer. This article will explore the radio show possibilities offered by BlogTalkRadio and NowLive (see Resources below).

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Register for an account at BlogTalkRadio or Now Live. You will need to provide the information requested on the registration forms in order to start your own show.

  2. Step 2

Design your pages with graphics and the name of the show. An attractive web page will bring in potential listeners, help your show to have a more professional image and attract advertisers.

  3. Step 3

Schedule your show. BlogTalkRadio uses the scheduled system and you are only allowed to produce one show per week.

  4. Step 4

Line up guests for your show. if it is your first time in the game, then interviews work great. Believe it or not, it is not hard to get free guests. The plus is that the guest will tell their followers about the show, so you will have an audience.

  5. Step 5

Complete your first show. Both BlogTalkRadio and NowLive allow you to have call-ins and record your show. So, if it is an interview type show, then you can have callers lined up for after the show to broadcast next time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Now Live does a better job of recording
  • Now Live can be done remotely (no computer) and can have video. They also allow you to use Google Talk.
