How to Teach Children Collectible Dolls Are Not Toys

If you collect porcelain dolls, porcelain doll figurines, or other collectible dolls, no doubt you don't want your children playing with them. Here are some tips that can help teach children that your collectibles aren't toys.

1. Never go shopping for collectible dolls, porcelain doll figurines, or other doll collectibles with your children. It's hard for some young children to understand that the purchase is for you and not them.

2. When you bring your collectible dolls home, explain over and over again that the dolls belong to you.

3. Keep your collectible dolls, porcelain dolls, and doll figurines up and out of the reach of children. High shelves or cabinets that have locking doors work the best.

4. If you must, keep your dolls in your bedroom until your children are old enough to understand that your collectible dolls aren't toys.
