Step 1
Carpool.
One great way would be to carpool. Carpooling can save quite a bit. The more people you have, the less you pay for gas. This would be a great idea for a job or even a vacation. Try to think of places that you and others travel to frequently. -
Step 2
Buy a hybrid.
While hybrids are more expensive than a normal car, you will be saving quite a lot in gas. A hybrid uses a battery and gasoline. That way you do not go through your gas nearly as fast. -
Step 3
Walking.
If it is somewhere close by, try walking. Not only will you get great exercise, you will be cutting back on your gas usage. -
Step 4
Try to stay under 60 mph.
Your car uses more gas the harder it has to work. So try to keep your speed down and you will save a little on gas. This is a great idea when traveling long distances. -
Step 5
Look for the best price.
Gas prices change just about everyday. But different gas pumps have different prices. You could look at two gas pumps next to each other and there be a 10 cents difference. So keep your eyes peeled for the best deal.
