1
Measure how tall your farm equipment is. Also, decide if you will be housing a large motor home in the steel building. The worst thing would be to install doors that aren't large enough. Typically, 15 foot tall doors can accommodate anything.

2
Ask yourself if you will have horses one day. If so, go ahead and create doors for them in your steel building. Dutch doors are inexpensive and pleasing to the eye.

3
Decide if you will use your steel building to regularly park your vehicle. If you want to go in and out of your building with your vehicles each day, an overhead door is the best option. In fact, an automatic overhead door will probably suit you best.

4
Evaluate the money situation. If overhead doors are too expensive (because they are the most expensive of all the doors), save some money and purchase sliding doors. Your steel building can having large sliding doors or small sliding doors. In fact, you can save even more money if one opening has just one sliding door as opposed to 2 sliding doors for one opening.

5
Place at least 1 walk through door on your steel building. Unless you are severely limited in your cash, you won't regret placing a sliding door on your steel building. They save a lot of hassle when all you want to do is walk into your building without opening a huge sliding or overhead door.

Tips & Warnings
If you need to add an automatic garage door, you can include that feature at a later date. Just be sure to install an overhead door, and the electronic device can come later.
Don't forget that insulated doors can do a lot to keep the temperature manageable inside the steel building.
