Instructions

    • 1

Memorize "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:20) Have this scripture ready to use from your memory when situations occur that become difficult. Having full belief that God is with you always, anywhere that you are, anytime, helps you to know that you are surrounded by God's grace everywhere that you go. Embracing this thought is the foundation for a strong daily prayer life.

    • 2

Quiet your mind and spirit as you prepare to pray. Listen to that still, small voice inside as you search your heart. "Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)

    • 3

Thank God for all that he has done in your life. Offer prayers of Thanksgiving and praise when you open prayers, when a prayer request was answered or when something positive happened. Thank him out loud or silently while you are going about your day.

    • 4

Identify specifically what you are praying about. Claim your prayer with full belief that it will be answered.

    • 5

Pray in the word of God. Repeat scripture verses, read them out loud or look over them silently when you pray, especially if a particular scripture verse is in your heart.

    • 6

Pray with another when he is in need. No matter where you are, if you see someone in need and if you feel led, stop and pray either with him or for him. Prayer is a positive way to lift up a friend who is ill, feeling depressed or in mourning.

    • 7

Write prayer requests in a prayer journal. Take the prayer journal with you everywhere that you go. Add prayer needs to the list as they come to your heart. When you pray, hold the list in your hand or scan the list with your eyes. Speak each request out loud, whisper each one or pray for each one silently. Date the prayer requests when you pray for them. If you receive a praise report, write the date down. Keep a dated prayer journal.
