Become Fluent in Spanish

If you have taken Spanish classes in high school or college and want to become a more proficient speaker, follow these steps when you are out of school but still remember the basics.

Group or At Least One Fluent Spanish Speaker

Step 1

Surround yourself with as many Spanish speakers as possible. Plan social activities which involve talking and getting to know each other.
Step 2

Discipline yourself to only speak Spanish with those who will understand you.
Step 3

Do not slide into speaking Spanglish and mix English in when you do not know a Spanish word. Ask for assistance and repeat the correct Spanish word to memorize it.
Step 4

Try to learn slang Spanish words that are popular in different Hispanic countries. Incorporate these words into your Spanish vocabulary.
Step 5
